[April 10, 2025] DRONELIFE Special News – The global finals of the autonomous drone championship, jointly organized by the Abu Dhabi Autonomous Racing League (A2RL) and the Drone Championship League (DCL), will be held in the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center Terminal Hall on April 11-12. 14 top teams from 11 countries will compete in the peak of artificial intelligence aerial competition to compete for a million-dollar prize pool.

A new era of technological competition
This event pioneered the requirement that all participating drones rely entirely on the onboard AI system to complete the race, and any external control is prohibited. Each racing drone equipped with the NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX computing module can achieve an amazing speed of 150 kilometers per hour with only the front camera and inertial measurement unit (IMU). This event is not only the ultimate test of sensor fusion technology and deep learning algorithms, but also will redefine the application standards of autonomous drones in logistics distribution, emergency rescue and other fields.

Four extreme challenge competition systems
1. Artificial Intelligence Masters – 170-meter dynamic track individual time trial, double lap race to test path optimization ability
2. Man-machine peak showdown – the top four AI systems will compete with the human FPV flight champion in a knockout match
3. Cluster intelligence competition – four aircraft compete on the same field, verifying the autonomous obstacle avoidance and collaborative flight algorithms for the first time
4. Extreme sprint challenge – straight-line acceleration race comprehensively evaluates system response speed and flight stability

Global scientific and technological forces gather
The final teams span three continents, including top universities such as MIT and Delft University of Technology, as well as scientific and technological innovation companies from China, the United States, Europe and other places. The second A2RL Summit will be held at the same time as the event, focusing on the theme of “Building the UAE AI and Robotics Silicon Valley”, bringing together global experts in the field of smart travel.
